Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Part III (Spec Ops) By Gabe

New to the Call of Duty series is Spec Ops mode.  Ever get tired of waiting for the action to happened and being driven by a lot of story?  Ever wish you could encounter incredible amount of enemies with almost no support whichever?  Wish that you could’ve battled AI with your buddies in Campaign?  Well look no further my friends for Spec Ops is the thing for you.

Spec Ops is a variety of missions based off the game’s campaign, its prequel campaign, and some things totally new.  Each mission is different in it’s objective whether its sneaking through a ice-hearted forest undetected, taking out enemies in a “Last Man Standing”, or get from Point A to Point B without dying.

Each time you complete one of these missions, you gain stars (depending on the requirements you fulfilled) which allow you to unlock a set of missions.  There are 4-5 sets in total and 23 missions in total.  Though I haven’t played through most of the missions the missions I have played and also from my fellows’ opinions we are safe to say that with teamwork that each mission makes us feel accomplished.

Now, you may think this as easy as campaign, right?  Wrong!  In Spec Ops, it almost essential to have a friend playing with you.  In single player, you will die again and again, whereas with a partner he’ll be able to revive you.  Some missions in the game even require a co-op mode where usually its one player protecting another player from waves of enemies so he or she can reach the Objective.

Now, one interesting, yet annoying, addition to Spec Ops is the new enemy named the Juggernaut (cleverly named after the COD 4 perk which give you extra health).  And that is what exactly defines this enemy, a big turd of armor that’s only mission is to go straight for you.  Even the most powerful of weapons take a few shots to kill one of these bad boys.

Now I have to admit this is the most maintenance, well-thought part of the game.  That’s why I give it a perfect 10 out of 10.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 (Gameplay and Multiplayer)

Now that we’ve gone over the story, let’s go over what everyone wants to hear: the actual gameplay.

The format is the same as it has been in previous Call of Duty titles.  You play as one of the U.S. Army Rangers in the game protecting America or a Task Force 141 operative searching for the antagonist of the game, Makarov.  Both situations have different situations where as in the Army it’s a full-scale war battle whereas TF-141 it’s an infiltrate and destroy situation.

Now the multiplayer uses the full-extent of Modern Warfare 2’s potential.  There are now more of a variety of weapons and equipment you can use, which you get by leveling up (similar to its sequel).  There is now less perks than before due to some perks being to powerful.  Most of the game modes also return in Modern Warfare 2.

Instead of just several kill streaks (support you get by killing X number of guys in a row) there are now more than a dozen of unique kill streaks; however, you are only limited to use three at a time.  One of the most intriguing and infamous kill streak is the 25 kill-streak Tactical Nuke which can end a match early.  Also, if you are down on your luck, you now have the addition of kill streaks that can give you an upper hand in battle

Many new maps are welcomed in Modern Warfare 2 most being unique and not non-linear like some of its predecessor’s maps.  With the exception of Rust, all maps are pretty large but still decent enough to play through.

Now comes the dark side of all this, everytime you try and go play a game you usually have to wait quite a while to find a server.  Too many times servers crash as well ending a game early, neither counting it as a win or loss.  One of the bigger nuisances is host migration meaning when the host of the server leaves, the AI chooses and selects another host which actually freezes the game for half a minute or can overall loose connection with the server.

Though many problems have been fixed since the game has been out, in the release of MW2 there was a major issue with glitched lobbies and overpowered weapons.  Though there are numerous glitches at the time, it does not compare to the fail of computer servers.

Why? Because there is no company putting up reliable internet servers for Modern Warfare 2.  This was such a failure that some fan boys even petitioned to ban the game.  So, independent servers are used instead meaning the only lobbies and games that you’ll get on the Pc will probably be glitched.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Review Part I (Story)

By Gabriel

Now, I know it’s been a few months since the game came out, but I just wanted to do this to get into detail of what George said in his review.  Now, I will reveal important spoilers now but I won’t give away how the game ends.

Story

The story is well…more focused to the story than its prequel.  It gives missions that don’t feel so much like a side mission.  With that, there are many twist and turns throughout the game which would leave us in shock and awe the first time we seen them.

WARNING: Skip this paragraph if you do not want spoilers.

Now in the prequel, it presented us with one dramatic scene that you really wouldn’t see in a game.  That scene was when the nuke exploded and your helicopter crash landed, showing a first-hand perspective to experience a nuke and die of radiation poison.  In MW2, you have 3 of these scenes.

Now the first one is the most controversial one there is and it’s what really starts the story.  You go as an undercover agent to gain the antagonist’s trust and in order to do that you have to go on a massive killing spree of citizens in a Moscow airport (or not if you just wanna see the other do it) and kill the S.W.A.T. (GO PEER PRESSURE!).  Sadly, you are found out and Makarov, the antagonist, shoots you in the head.  Now, there is some key flaws with this.

Number One, the game doesn’t allow you to kill Makarov even if you do unload an entire clip in his head.

Second, when you start the mission you see that there is a total of 5-6 men including you and by the end its only one other guy and Makarov.  The problem is Why weren’t they also blamed for the attack?  I mean seriously they just look at one guy and say “OMG It’s a white guy, let’s invade AMERICA!”  Did they not have time to look at the other guys?  Even though the level is titled “No Russian” it is still a flaw.

The second one is really sentimental to us because this hasn’t happened since 200-300 years ago.  It shows a burning Washington D.C. with destroyed buildings and monuments as the Russians are tearing it apart.

The third, last one is one of the most interesting viewpoints I have seen in my life.  In order to save Washington D.C., TF 141 launches a nuclear EMP.  We are put in the eyes of an astronaut in space on a satellite speaking with Houston Control.  As a result from the blast the satellite is utterly destroyed and the astronaut throttles back into space getting killed by satellite debris.

No, the only problem I had about the story was two things.

1) It was the shortest campaign in all the COD games I’ve played (from 2-6).  Where a usual campaign is 9 to 10 hours, where this one was 3 to 5 hours.

2) Though I can’t really say this a complaint, it was the easiest one I’ve ever played through.  Veteran can be even done in half a day where the others take a few days.

And when you’ve finished the game, you get an extra “Horde” mode in the mission select called Museum, which is basically some fan service for the game and a way to kill all the characters in the game who are trying to kill you.  It’s especially fun since you have every gun from the game in your disposal. =3

In review, it had a much better story than the first one did but it is cut way to short!  So short that they could’ve even put in the sequel’s story in too.  And though there are logical flaws in the story, everything was as mind blowing and energetic about the story.

Overall I gave it a 9.7 out of 10

Bayonetta Review

Gameplay

The gameplay in the game resembles that of Devil May Cry and Ninja; and before you think this is just a blatant copy of the two, let me say how wrong you are.  In the game you have 15 weapons, which you gain by collecting LP or doing certain requirements.  These weapons are astounding to use and incredibly fun!  There are also accessories in the game where you them at the Gates of Hell (which is incredibly expensive!).  These accessories are incredibly fun and useful, especially during the harder modes of the game.

You can have up to 4 weapons at a time, including your hands and feet, and 3 accessories as well.  If you can dodge at the right time, you’ll start Witch time aka slow down time, which is extremely

needed during the game.  The game also has a quick button reaction time, similar from god of war; but if you are able to press the button over a certain amount of times, you get halos, which the currency in this game.

The most epically, great thing in this is game is how you kill your enemies by using special attacks.  You can punch and kick with giant arms and legs, summon torture devices to use on your enemies, and bring the animals of hell to do your bidding.  The catch is that all of these attacks are made of her HAIR and that she’s naked when doing it.

Control

All I have to say is that combos are possible to do but can be challenging still.  Also, I noticed that sometimes when I press the punch button it instead reacts with the kick button.

Graphics

This game is euphoric with the graphics.  Dramatic destruction scenes, beautiful landscapes, and the countless, countless number of times of Bayonetta’s ass are beautifully implemented.  The graphics will please you in everyway (well unless you’re a priest or something.)

Sound

The voice acting is done beautifully with characters and the sounds of battle are nice.  The music in the game does set the right mood to fights, especially since this game has a lot of Japanese pop culture.  However, if you are ever stuck in an area, you’ll start to find the music pretty annoying.

Conclusion

Bayonetta’s story may not be great but it is still pretty good to look into.  Though it does borrow mechanics from certain games, it’s uniqueness excels through that and rises above as the first great game of the year (Yes I think is better than Dark Siders).  This game is alive with so many visuals and sounds, that you’ll be quite satisfied to the end.

I give this game a 9.5 out of 10.  This game is for you if you especially enjoy beat’em ups.

The Xtinguishor's Opinion On The iPad

Finally what everyone was waiting for was announced! The Apple Tablet which is actually called the iPad was announced by Steve Jobs on January 27, 2010 at his annual event. It is basically like an ipod touch but really big. The other main differences is that it has iWork which lets you make documents on the device itself. It also has a new store called iBooks which lets you download eBooks to the tablet. I was a little disappointed with this new Apple product because I and a lot of people expected a camera on it but it doesn't have one and no one knows why... I also expected it to have more mac features such as iLife and other things, but it is just a big ipod touch. Something that most people don't realize is that this wouldn't be a good music player since it is too big to carry it in your pocket, and you are not going to be in the street with it in your hands listing to music, are you? So if I were you I would have an ipod touch or and iphone I wouldn't want to waste my money on this.

iPad 4.0 OS Review

Hello, everyone Gabriel’s back from vacation and today we are gonna talk about the iPad 4.0 OS, the newest product of Apple.

Apple decided to reverse their product style of the smallest thing that you could put in your pocket into something that feels like your carting a baby.  So, what I’m about to type is a generalization of what the iPad is:  IT’S A F&*KIN HUGE IPHONE.

Now let me explain what I mean by that.  It is the same format and software as an iPhone, like the apps and the pages of your apps.  It has Wifi default and if you pay an extra $100+ you get the 3G network.  And sadly it’s only 1 Ghz (aka not very fast).

The iPad looks like its from the future, where its able to recognize our touch more effectively and so spread when looking at the internet but really its just the same iPhone with more memory, same network, and maybe faster connection.

Now, I would like to address the issue of groups, like the Associated Press, saying that this is could be a breakthrough in gaming since its with the new huge touch screen.  My reply to that is “That’s a breakthrough?  Wait, why couldn’t we have something similar to those HP Touch Screen computers?  I mean seriously what’s gonna be different?  Better controls when using the touch screen?  Is that really a breakthrough?”

But anyway everybody that is my review and opinion on Apple’s new iPad 4.0 OS and I hope you enjoyed it!

Mac Pro Review

The Mac Pro is worth 2499$
The Mac Pro is a 64 bit machine

Inside the Mac Pro :
Is the cleanest desktop you could ever see so clean so easy to change out it is amazing there is nothing big about the machine for 2499$ *On Jan 27 2010*

iPhone 4.0 OS Predictions

Some of the NEW features that the 4.0 OS for the iPhone will have is just a rumor and is listed below.... These are just some rumors so don't expect it to be true.

Multi-touch gestures OS-wide (They plan to have 4.0 OS in the iTablet)

“A few new ways” to run applications in the background-multitasking

Many graphical and UI changes to make navigating through the OS easier and more efficient. Apple hasn’t had this broken down, but we can only hope for improved notifications, a refreshed home screen, etc

The update will supposedly be available for only the iPhone 3g and 3gs, but will “put them ahead in the smart phone market because it will make them more like full-fledged computers” more that any other phone to date.

The last piece of information is the most vague, but apparently there will be some brand new syncing ability for the contacts and calendar applications.

My Opinion On The Apple iPad

My opinion of the Apple iPad is that I think many people would buy this product, but at the same time I think that Apple is just wasting there time making this Apple iPad.

I took a vote on Twitter and I came to a conclusion that 50% of the people on Twitter said they would buy this but the other 50% said they won't. In my opinion I rather stick with an iPhone or an iPod Touch.

You can have the same kind of technology in an iPhone or an iPod Touch but Apple is making this "better" product that is supposedly is suppose to beat the Kindle and the E-Reader.

I think that Apple is just now to the point where they are making products that people may not even buy. I think that Apple should really come up with some better ideas in their future products because the iPhone and iPod Touch is literally the same thing as the Apple iPad.
